SUMMARY:California Eagles Golf Coaching
DESCRIPTION:The California Eagles is a golf program for those with special needs. The purpose of the program is to give people with special needs the opportunity to learn and enjoy the great game of golf. The program began almost 40 years ago\, and members of Point West Rotary have been volunteering as coaches for 30 of those years! The coaches teach life enhancing values\, including honesty\, integrity\, sportsmanship\, respect courtesy and responsibility through the game of golf. They support the athletes on the golf course\, driving range\, and putting green. You don’t have to know how to golf to volunteer! It is more about being supportive and providing encouragement. It is supported by Haggin Oaks Golf Course\, Morton Golf Foundation\, the First Tee of Greater Sacramento\, and the Rotary Club of Point West. The group meets every Tuesday evening (5:30 – 7:00 pm) from May through September. Donating time to this project is a fulfilling and worthwhile experience and makes a difference in the lives of these golfers.
